Saturday saw the Plough see off?Battersea?Ironsides in a good, if bloody chilly, game at Barn Elms.
We batted first in a game that was to see over 400 runs scored. Steve Britto and Adam Barraclough got us off to a flyer with a partnership of over 150 runs with Barras coming tantalizingly close to his maiden ton, scoring 98 before being caught on the cow boundary. Barras is rapidly becoming one of the club?s most destructive batsman and it?s only a matter of time before the tons start piling up.? Everyone else contributed to our total of 229.
Battersea?made a game of it despite our new boy, Ross Lonsdale, opening the innings and?taking a wicket with his first ball for the club!!!???Outstanding!?Ashish Paul bowled superbly but the wickets evaded him this time, instead falling to the left arm seam of Chris Lilford, who nicked 3, and Ross, who bagged another to finish with a brace and seal a Plough win by 51 runs.
